About Us
Our medical practitioner, Dr Lester Cowell
Works full time in primary care of skin cancer.
He is a Foundation Fellow of the Skin Cancer College of Australia and New Zealand (SCCANZ) and a member of the International Dermoscopy Society. He has got the Certificate of Skin Cancer Medicine (distinction) of the Skin Cancer College of Australia and New Zealand.
Lester has engaged in international research collaborations and his contributions to the dermoscopic features of skin cancers have been published in leading academic journals.
He is currently working towards a PhD at the University of Queensland in the field of melanoma morphology.
Monika Cowell
Has qualifications from the University of Queensland in
Primary Care of Skin Cancer- Advanced Dermoscopy
- Cutaneous Photography
Her original innovations in the application of Photodynamic Therapy for non- melanoma skin cancers have been presented at International and Australian Conferences.
Her special interests are:
- Total Body Photography Mapping (TBP) for high-risk patients,
- Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT)
- and Photobiology (teaching of sun-related issues such as, UV protection and the importance of Vitamin D.
We are volunteer practitioners with the Lions Cancer Institute Skin Cancer Screening Program in Remote and Regional WA.
